Most of you recreational fisherpersons are aware of the on-going concerns regarding the transportation of fishing boats, etc..... over North Carolina's state highway system.

Swansboro Rotary Fishing Tournament Committee and the N.C. Highway Patrol have communicated in very positive ways regarding this important matter and it is absolutely clear to the Swansboro Rotary Club that there has never been any "Targeting" ( by the N.C. Highway Patrol) of recreational or tournament fisherpersons.

Specifically, only 6 out of 60,000 related citations over the past year concerned drivers pulling recreational boats.

There is soild agreement among all parties that current applicable state laws are cause for concern, review and possible change and or revision...

While no one in his right mind would say that the currently existing regulations are a non-issue, the Swansboro Rotary Club is convinced that "everyone" involved with this issue is currently responding to this problem in a practical, fair and common-sense manner !

So, make sure all your lights are working, don't speed, obey all traffic laws, look out for the other guy and

get your butt to Swansboro.
